slavery. zero compensation for free labor. 1790 naturalization act. blacks denied right to vote and own property. homestead act. millions of acres given to white people, blacks not included opportunity to build homes, businesses, or inter-generational wealth. social security act of 1935. blacks excluded from any benefits to earn income after they retired. national labor relations act of 1935. unions excluded blacks from membership, which granted unions power of collective bargaining. federal housing administration and redlining. blacks were denied loans to purchase homes. the federal government backed over 98% of home loans to white people.
